Overview

Healverse is a personal project exploring what an approachable healthcare experience looks like — discovering doctors and services, booking appointments, and reading trustworthy health content, all in a calm, accessible interface.

The Problem

Healthcare websites are often cluttered and intimidating. I wanted to design a flow where someone worried about their health could find the right care in a few calm, clear steps.

Architecture

Frontend

Next.js pages built with ShadCN/UI components and Tailwind CSS, tuned for accessibility.

Booking

A step-by-step appointment flow with validation and clear error and success states.

API layer

REST endpoints for providers, availability, and appointments.

Data

MongoDB collections for providers, services, patients, and appointments.

Key Features & My Role

  • Doctor and service discovery with search and specialty filters
  • Appointment booking flow with clear confirmation states
  • Health resources and articles in an easy-to-read layout
  • Accessible, mobile-first design with high-contrast text

Outcomes & Results

  • Launched a live, publicly accessible healthcare site.
  • Practiced accessibility-first design, from contrast to focus states.
  • Produced a reusable booking flow I can adapt to other service businesses.

Reflection

Designing for anxious users changed my priorities: fewer choices per screen and plain language mattered more than any visual flourish.
